Are you walking past a fortune?
How many times has your supermarket issued you a rebate check? Five times? Ten times? They haven't? Well, they should.

Every time you purchase food at your local supermarket, you increase its sales and profits. As a steady customer, don't you think you deserve a purchase rebate? After all, they would lose the extra profits from your purchases if you didn't shop with them. Shoppers deserve a purchase rebate.

What about the $40 in advertising savings shown in the Mr. Food paper? Since you are already a customer, there is no need for Mr. Food to spend advertising money to convince you to purchase from their store. Mr. Food might as well pass this savings on to you.

And what is that $320 referral income for? You told a few friends and neighbors you enjoyed shopping at Mr. Food. They changed from a competitor supermarket, and now shop at Mr. Food. You performed word-of-mouth advertising for Mr. Food. Now each month you should receive a referral check because your friends and neighbors shop at Mr. Food.

Remember, if it wasn't for you, these people would still be shopping elsewhere.

Does all this sound far-fetched? Hard to believe? Well, it happens every day. Many businesses now share their advertising dollars with individuals in the search for more customers.

Let's consider this concept from the viewpoint of a local furniture store. When the furniture store retails a $1,000 dining room set, its profit and expenses may look like this:

Cost of dining room set from manufacturer - $400
Overhead of rent, employees, insurance, etc. - $200
Advertising budget to bring customers to the store - $300
Profit - $100

What if the furniture retailer gave that 30 percent ($300 advertising budget) to individuals who performed word-of-mouth advertising instead of spending it on radio, TV, and newpaper advertising?

If you refer a customer to the furniture store, or if the advertising media refers a customer to the furniture store, the result is the same. One customer, buying one dining room set, produces $1,000 in revenue to the furniture retailer. It shouldn't make any difference to the furniture store retailer WHO gets the advertising budget, an individual or the media.

Does business really work this way? Can an individual receive referral or advertising income from manufacturers or retailers for the simple act of referring another person?

Yes! It happens every day in almost every industry. If you haven't heard about it or taken advantage of it, you could literally be walking past a fortune!

The secret is that not every company in every industry is willing to share its advertising budget with individuals. Only a few companies have programs that allow individuals to share their advertising budgets.

Back in 1975, I met Anita, a mother of 11 children. With a disabled husband, Anita kept herself busy just caring for her family. Now, Anita is the perfect example of multiplication. Her family used a variety of household products, cosmetics, and health products from a company which shared its advertising budget with individuals.

The monthly rebate from her personal purchases was a great addition to the tight budget. But the real multiplication power came from Anita referring acquaintances and casual contacts to her company's products. The grocery store checkout clerk, church members, friends, and almost any contact received a brochure showing how they too could buy directly from Anita's company and receive purchase rebates and referral bonuses.

Then Anita stopped. She didn't even bother to mention her company's shared advertising program again, but the multiplication factor kept working. The individuals Anita originally referred to her company continued to refer others to the company's shared advertising bonus concept. All these individuals were indirectly the result of Anita's original efforts.

The results? Anita's monthly referral bonuses grew to $2,000 per month. then $2,500 per month, then $3,000 per month. What did Anita do with her time? She spent it with her family. Her income kept increasing because of the power of multiplication. The company's sales increased monthly because of the initial groundwork Anita performed months earlier.

If my referral bonuses depended on who I knew, I would need a different career. We are all limited in the number of people we know, but the multiplication concept is powered by the thousands of people others know. If you really stretched the point, everyone in the world could be contacted through a long sequence of referrals. Just how powerful can this multiplication power be?

Back in 1983, I was fat. While feeding my face with nachos at a local bar and grill, I met a couple of fun "party guys." Quite honestly, they weren't the type to have an interest in a shared advertising concept, even if they could remember our conversation the next morning. However, they mentioned they had a friend who was looking for an opportunity to break away from his routine career. I would have followed up on this, but it would have interfered with my new nacho passion.

A few days later I got a telephone call from their friend. I agreed to meet him (at a Mexican restaurant, of course), and tell him about the shared advertising concept. The concept was simple enough that it only took one plate of enchiladas to explain in detail.

The result? First, I got fatter. I looked for a company that supplied some diet food and had a shared advertising program. If I was going to lose wieght, I wanted to be paid for it. Second, my new acquaintance wasn't fat, but knew some people who were. He saw this as a perfect opportunity to earn some referral bonuses. He went on to build an impressive referral network.

By introducing him to referral marketing, I have earned over $250,000 just from this one contact! I'm seriously considering eating more nachos and getting fat again. It pays!

The point is I didn't know this man. I barely knew the "party guys." Referral marketing can be a gold mine just around the next corner, you never know.

Destination Diamond County or the Rank of Diamond
by Carla Green

Me and my husband Bill have been guests of the people that live in Diamond County and we just really really love it there. The nicest people in the world live in Diamond County and what's so great about the people that live there is that they have laid out a really beautiful road map for the quickest way to get there and live there ourselves. When you are heading to diamond county you have to pass through several other counties. Each one is a little bit nicer than the one before it. So you'll be passing through Star, Senior Star, Executive, Silver, Gold, and Platinum counties.

The route to Diamond County is that you need to build a very strong front line. So on your front line you need a minimum of six strong members and it's better to have 8 to 10 wide on that front line. Now you're going to have to focus your energy on two of those front line people and help them to be successful as well. That will get you to Silver County or Silver Rank.

So when you're going on a road trip you've got to think of a few things. You've got to choose the vehicle, you've got to watch out for the potholes along the way, you don't want to go on any detours, you want the most direct route to get yourself there, you want to take advantage of any shortcuts you can find, and whenever you can turbocharge your engine to get yourself there a little faster it's always a good thing.

So when you are first starting out choosing a vehicle that you are most comfortable driving is the way to start. If you sign up two people per month yourself every month at the end of the year you will have 24 people. Vehicles that you can use include trade shows, you could teach small classes, you could help someone one on one to step up to better with Young Living to achieve wellness. It is far better to focus on wellness than on symptoms.

Something that will help to turbocharge your journey is to sign up two people and then help them to sign up two people and then those two people help those to sign up two people. If you did the duplication every month after a year you would have 531,440 members! Even if you have a 95% failure rate you'll still have 25,000 members in just one year!

For more duplication you can have small home parties, or random acts of education whether you are on an airplane and share with someone sitting next to you or in a grocery store line or at your kids play group, any opportunity you have to share Young Living and the benefits of it with others I call random acts of education.

What we found along the way in building our business is that vanity is a massive motivator. We started teaching people that OmegaGize was one of the very best supplements you could ever ever use to prevent a wrinkle and to reverse a wrinkle. People started ordering 3, 4, and even 5 bottles so they would never run out. Vanity is something that really gets people to sit up and take notice.

Everyone wants to look younger. Everyone wants to put their best face forward. And if you can help them see that by using Young Living products will help prevent and reverse wrinkles people will join you very quickly. People wil be asking you how can they get Young Living products and how can they sign up. No selling required.

Now we want to talk a little about detours. Now you know that when you go on any road trip sometimes you can end up on a detour. We've been on a few detours that have taken us to places that we didn't want to go and we had a hard hard time finding our way back. Now this first detour is a very important one and one that I am very passionate about. I believe that a big big detour that people run into is when they try to run multiple network marketing businesses especially if that business has products that compete with the Young Living line of products. If you look at the residents that live in Diamond County you won't find that. You will see that the residents in Diamond County have only one focus and that is Young Living.

When you get up into the higher ranks in Young Living you will often have people approach you with some new "great" opportunity. As a rule we politely back away. Our attitude is that Young Living has everything we need and many of the things that they are telling us about another product line, Young Living already has something that will help someone achieve those same goals.

The second detour is the need to be an expert. Some people think that they can't share Young Living with other people until they've learned everything. They read all the books, they watch all the DVD's, they maybe even decide to become a professional. You don't need to be an expert to be able to share with other people. Even if you know an answer it is really helpful to new people to pick up a desk reference and read the answer out of the book. Then your new person will see that they too can do this simply by reading the answer out of a book.

The third detour is "I'm not good at sales". The thing to realize is this isn't sales. We firmly believe that it is sharing and caring. Here's a good example. You have a good friend and she's looking for a certain purse to match a special outfit or for the men you have a buddy who is looking for this very unique fishing rod because he loves to fish. Now when you are out in the world you might trip over exactly what they're looking for. We might see that exact purse in the store when we are out shopping or the fellas might be in a sporting store and see the perfect fishing rod. What are you going to do? You're going to pick up the phone. You're going to call your friend and you're going to say "You know that awesome purse that you needed? I just saw it at store XYZ! Then I was at this other discount store and they had this same exact purse and you could get it at a wholesale price!" Obviously you're going to help your friend. You care enough that you're going to let them know. So how is Young Living any different?

You know that these products are there and that they can help people so why don't you share what you know about it? Someone may have a horrible mold problem. Well you know that Young Living has an affordable effective solution with the Thieves oil and Thieves cleaner and you know that it works better than any other products out there. So it's important to share that with people in your circle of influence.
The fourth detour is not introducing the Young Living business opportunity. We lived with a misconception about network marketing for the first seven years that we were involved with Young Living. We wish that we had been enlightened earlier about the truth of network marketing. So what you need to do is to provide people with information as to how wonderful network marketing can be.

My husband Bill saw an interview with Donald Trump the other day. They asked Donald Trump if he lost all his money today what would he do to try and gain back millions. What would be the easiest vehicle. His answer was that he would join a network marketing company. They asked "Why would you do that?" He said because it had a low amount of upfront cost and it was very easy to get into and very easy to do. People in the audience started booing at him after he said network marketing and he laughed and pointed at the audience and said that's why I'm up here and you're down there.

Once we understood we said thank goodness Young Living is network marketing. I had a patient who desperately needed an Everyday Oils kit. He was in severe chronic pain but they couldn't afford it. So I explained how Young Living had a generous compensation plan and they got the money together for their Everyday Oils Kit and using a few of the oils made such a dramatic difference to this man's pain that his wife started carrying the oils in her purse and put them on anybody and everybody that had any kind of a headache or anything. Well in the first month that they were members she enrolled so many people that they received a check the next month for $450. So here was someone who couldn't actually afford the product and they had a vehicle in which they could not only afford the product but could afford more of the products once they were sharing Young Living. And they weren't out there selling anything. They were sharing the great success that he had had with pain relief and that they wanted to share with other people.

Now when you're on a road trip you've got to watch out for potholes because if you fall into one of those you could have a flat tire or something. It's a temporary setback but still kind of slows your progress. Some of the potholes that we had along the way were negative family members and friends. You know the ones we're talking about.

Another pothole is when you have an event that isn't successful. But just remember it only takes one person for you to have some kind of success. So in our opinion no event is unsuccessful. I had this experience years ago outside of Young Living when I put on an event and only two ladies showed up. I thought it was a horrible disaster but I've treated their families and their friends for over 10 years now.

Another pothole is burying people in information, facts, and science. That is a pothole that I fell into because of my background as a professional I would give people reams of research articles and I would bury them in paper and couldn't figure out why people weren't wanting to Join Young Living and learn more but I was just suffocating them with too much information.

Now when you're going on a road trip it is really awesome if you can find a shortcut. We all like to get to our final destination as quick as possible. So one of the shortcuts that we found along the way was attending Young Living events. At events you will be surrounded by so many wonderful and caring people and you will learn so many wonderful things.

Now you want to turbocharge your vehicle and get to where you're going as fast as you can. We host meetings twice a month. The first 45 minutes is on health and the last 45 minutes is on business building. Another way to turbocharge your vehicle is to reinvest in your business. You can educate yourself through books or attending trainings or you can do things like offering incentives for your members. Other ways to turbocharge is to put out newsletters, blogs, you could mail out the promo postcards that Young Living provides. Having a good website to send people to is also a good way to turbocharge your vehicle. Another way is to use different tools to help your vehicle such as trade shows.

But why would you want to be involved with Young Living? Yes you can make money but we are very passionate that this is so much more than just money. For example the world is in a very scary place with drug resistant bacteria and we know that Young Living has a very very effective solution with our pure authentic therapeutic essential oils. There is lots of research in PubMed showing that various essential oils are effective against drug resistant bacteria. Now these bacteria move very quickly and the antibiotics that we have are not working. So you want every home in the world to have the oils on their shelf. You can't afford to wait a day or two to get them delivered if you have an emergency. Toxic mold is another problem in the world. Young Living has a powerful solution that is affordable for everyone and effective to clear your home or your body from toxic mold. The Mayo Clinic has said that over 90% of chronic infections are due to fungal problems. Then there is the "C" word (cancer) and Young Living has the solution for improved quality of life and we believe quantity of life. Bill's mom was a stunning example of that. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She was given three months to live. She got started on Young Living products and lived another three and a half years and when she passed away it had nothing to do with cancer. We have seen many people through the years who have had dramatic improvements using Young Living products for this difficult challenge.

We've been overrun with toxins in our world, in our environment, in our body and once again Young Living has solutions. And many people are in a financial crisis and the wonderful thing about Young Living is you don't need to have any fancy degree or any fancy education. Yeah there's a few skills you need to learn to develop a Young Living business but they are something that everybody from every walk of life could learn very easily.

Now you might be saying "I don't really need any more money." Well there's a very smart lady and I'm sure this is her quote, "good people with good money do good things". Mary Young I believe said that and we have seen that to be true in our lives and in the lives of our Young Living colleagues and friends. We support many charities with the extra money we get from Young Living. Just having a better quality of life for ourselves and our family is a great perk. We were able every year for about four years when our children would graduate from high school, we took the entire family on a tropical holiday. That was totally funded by our Young Living income. It wouldn't have been possible if we hadn't had that. We would love to have you as neighbors in Diamond County. Get started on your roadtrip today and before you know it you too will be in Diamond County.
